Went to see the Harry Potter movie again. I liked it better this time now that I knew what jarring omissions there would be. I was able to concentrate on the rest of it and discovered something odd. Why the HELL are they constantly hanging out in the great hall? They show the Gryffindor common room and then NEVER USE IT. What’s up with that?! Ahem. Snape. Wood. Very good. No, Wood didn’t come across as the maddened Quidditch captain that he turned into in Book 3, but a) they cut out so much of the quidditch season and b) didn’t bother to properly anchor the bit that they -did- have, that it wouldn’t have made sense to have him foaming at the mouth. <\/p>\n

May I just say, I HATE<\/b> having my plans changed at the last minute. Growl.<\/p>\n

Before the movie there was a kind of cute Monsters, Inc preview. In other words, it was cute once, perhaps twice, but more than that and I would not be happy. It involved the 2 monsters playing charades, and John Goodman’s monster was trying to pantomime out ‘Harry Potter’ but Billy Crystal’s monster was clueless.<\/p>\n

Now, on to what I had planned to blog about. Gringotts: It’s no wonder you figured out the trick to it, after sitting on the couch and watching me do it over and over again for half an hour! It’s not that I didn’t understand how to do it. It’s just that for some reason I had a very difficult time with turning the cart in the proper direction. I think it had a lot to do with those stupid arrows that kept flashing on the screen. I am seriously<\/i> right and left impared, and that really set it off. I know that sounds weird, but it is a fact, and it’s really frustrating. Right\/left and east\/west are big problems for me. I know them; I can picture them correctly in my mind. But if I need to react instantly and point left, or hit the right button, something happens and a lot of the time I’ll end up doing the opposite. Sometimes even if I stop and think about it, I’ll end up reversing them. This is part of my trouble with giving people directions, and it may be why I tend to fixate on landmarks. Strangely, though, I do have an excellent sense of direction.<\/p>\n

In any case, this impairment can cause problems with games where I have to hit right and left in a particular sequence based on arrows flashing on the screen. DDR can trigger it, though not on the slow songs. HP seems to have triggered it a lot.<\/p>\n
