On Saturday, Bob and I went in to Boston to see the Billy Joel concert at the Boston Garden<\/strike> Fleetcenter<\/strike> TD Banknorth Garden. The tickets were courtesy of my mom for Christmas, and they were right down on the floor.<\/p>\n
We hit Fire & Ice for dinner before the concert, and as we were walking there, it began to drizzle. This was not a good thing, since neither of us had thought to check the weather and thus neither of us had brought our umbrellas. But there wasn’t much we could do about it, so we went in and pigged out<\/strike> ate. (The fajita sauce, which had been sorely missed by me the past 2 times we went there, is now back!) <\/p>\n
By the time we emerged from the restaurant, the drizzle had shifted to a heavier rain. But neither of us felt like taking the T, so we instead braved the chilly rain to hike through the streets until we got to the Garden. We joined the crush of people going inside and found ourselves ushered down to the floor and inserted into a row of folding chairs with very little leg room.<\/p>\n
Sitting in front of us, I kid you not, was a bearded lady.<\/p>\n
The concert itself was pretty good; the selection of songs was what you’d expect, mostly old favorites, and though I’m still not a big concert-goer, it was worth it to go on mom’s dime. By the end, though, both Bob and I had a significant (albeit temporary) hearing loss.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
