But my pace fell off significantly after that. Though I had a resurge at the end of the year, I ended up with only 23 as of December 31st. Close, but no cigar. So I’ll have to take another stab at this goal in 2006.

I also wanted to bring down my percentage of manga and increase my percentage of new reads.

Manga: 39.8% (76)
Children’s/YA: 21.5% (41)
Non-fiction: 12% (23)

A mixed bag there. A very very slight improvement on the manga ratio. Non-fiction has gone up, though not so much as a percentage of the total. Children’s/YA has also gone up, but that’s neither bad nor good; that category includes things like Harry Potter so doesn’t really mean less pages read in any case.

New: 100
Previously Read: 91

A definite improvement here. This was helped a great deal by my increased patronage of the library (in turn spurred by working there.) But it also came down to the fact that I picked up several new series this year and thus plowed through a couple dozen books, all of which were new. If I want to keep that up for next year, I’ll have to add additional series.

2004 Tally Total Read: 191 items I had some goals for this year, one of which was to read 24 non-fiction items (2 per month).
