I mentioned in my last post that nothing in particular happened at Thanksgiving. And this is true for most of us. Though spent in company of nearly the same people as last year, the weekend was much less stressful because mom had carried her point and insisted we go out to a restaurant rather than attempt to eat in.<\/p>\n
There was no mashed potato paste, no potato choking incidents, and no warmed over entrees.<\/p>\n
J1 spent most of his time shut up in grandma’s room watching sports on her TV. He did emerge for a few hours on Thursday evening to disparage CSI and complain about how stupid it was before we turned to watch the second hour of Apprentice.<\/p>\n
On Friday, the vast majority of us went to the movies. The movie of choice (since hardly anything was playing for some reason) was Just Friends, and neither Bob nor J1 had any interest in going. So Bob remained to read his book and J1 remained to watch sports. (Does he ever do anything else?)<\/p>\n
While everyone was gone, grandma determined that her shoulder hurt. She instructed J1 to rub ointment into it and proceeded to take off half her shirt so he could reach it. Meanwhile, poor Bob is sitting in the chair just across.<\/p>\n
Later, J1 had to help her with her pants too.<\/p>\n
Interestingly, I didn’t hear this story from either of the boys, but from mom over Christmas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
