So he has to say yes to The College He Doesn&#8217;t Care To Attend But May Anyway (TCHDCTABMA) and send a deposit while waiting for TCOHC to realize the error of its ways and dispatch an immediate invitation, apology and promise for full financial aid.<\/p>\n<p>He decided he would send TCOHC some additional material.  To do this he needed to burn a DVD.  To his surprise he discovered that to do -this-, he needed a computer not clogged and choked by spyware.  So I arrived, ostensibly to get Norton AntiVirus to install, but I soon discovered the problem was far worse than that.<\/p>\n<p>To make a long story short, though, after 6 hours of rebooting, repairing registry entries by hand and using various spyware cleaning programs, the computer would burn a DVD. [But apparently the computer does not recognize avis&#8230; don&#8217;t ask. I didn&#8217;t.] I again gave J2 the lecture: run Ad-aware at least once a week. Run Spybot S&#038;D at least once a week.  Look at what you&#8217;re downloading, don&#8217;t just automatically click okay.  Every once in a while look at your task manager and figure out what all those running processes are.   But will he listen?<\/p>\n<p>Today he informed me that his computer is &#8216;acting weird again&#8217;. But it&#8217;s &#8216;doing something it wasn&#8217;t before&#8217;.
