This annoyed me greatly, because it boded ill for future returns &#8212; I was going to &#8216;lose&#8217; those bucks if I returned the item, and I&#8217;d get back only the amount in cash that I paid.<\/p>\n<p>But I saved the receipt just in case anyway.  And it turns out that I didn&#8217;t end up using that particular DVD.  Yesterday, I carted a pile of unopened DVDs back to Best Buy to return them; they took all of them but the Speed Racer, which they claimed was &#8216;no longer in their system&#8217;, which meant they couldn&#8217;t take it back without a receipt.<\/p>\n<p>Grr.<\/p>\n<p>So today I took it over to Suncoast to see what they would make of it.  Score! Not only did the guy there take it back, he gave me <b>$39.99<\/b> in gift credit for the stupid thing.
