Instead, I&#8217;m exhausted and I feel like I want to go to bed &#8212; except that if I go to sleep now, tomorrow will be a repeat of today&#8217;s misery, because I&#8217;ll be up at an insanely early hour and spend most of the day unhappy about it.<\/p>\n<p>My internal clock is broken, I swear. It&#8217;s never worked right. Never, never. It gets too easily out of whack with daylight and then seems content to remain that way.  Isn&#8217;t that wrong?  This world is arranged so that daylight hours are the hours in which everyone is forced to function.  If this is not normal behavior, you&#8217;d think that it would have changed as soon as artificial light became available.  But it hasn&#8217;t, so one must assume that on average, most people find it easier to be awake during the day.<\/p>\n<p>Maybe they&#8217;re all just fooling themselves, though.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear:both; padding-bottom: 0.25em;\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dinner&#8217;s on the stove, but I&#8217;m not at all hungry for it.
