No ideas to write about, so let’s just remark upon the commercials that were just on during the last break.<\/p>\n

Movie ads seemed to predominate, which is surprising to me, since the time of day would suggest that food would be more appropriate.<\/p>\n

Catwoman<\/i>: This is the first ad I’ve seen for the movie on television, though I had been seeing previews for it in the theatre before. The television trailer, which was different from trailers I’ve seen so far, managed to make it look unsucky. (Which is something the movie trailers completely failed to accomplish.)<\/p>\n

Collateral<\/i>: Tom Cruise looks really strange with white\/grey hair. And I still think he just doesn’t work as a villainous type.<\/p>\n

Valpak<\/i>: For some reason there was then an ad for coupons. I found this very puzzling; I had never seen this commercial before, and I really wonder what the point of it was — those stupid Valpaks come in the mail whether you want them or not. The commercial itself wasn’t bad, shot in a sort of blue-tinted black and white with highlights of color on the items which were made less expensive by coupons. Including the girl’s date.<\/p>\n

Burger King<\/i>: This was just a flash spot, advertising Burger King’s Spider-Man 2 merchandise.<\/p>\n

Little Black Book<\/i>: Another movie ad, this one for Brittany Murphy’s summer comedy. I’d seen a trailer for this at the theatre as well, though I had forgotten about the film until I saw this ad again. The premise is that a girl decides to start digging up her boyfriend’s past, being psychotically suspicious and meeting all his ex-girlfriends to reassure herself that she is better than them. Or something. I rather hope that he breaks up with her at the end of the movie, because I can’t see how her behavior could possibly be redeemed.<\/p>\n

Lazyboy<\/i>: A random mention that Lazboy has opened new showrooms in the area.<\/p>\n

And now it’s taken me so long to write these up, that more commercials came on. It again started off with 2 movie ads (A Cinderella Story and The Bourne Supremacy) before moving on to more expected items, like cars, Water Country and Taco Bell.<\/p>\n
