It&#8217;s necessarily bringing back memories of the last time I was on an Eddings binge, which was Fall 98-Spring 99.  With a few minor distractions, I read and reread those 18 (+1&#8230; the Rivan Codex isn&#8217;t quite part of the group) books for about 9 months straight.  I&#8217;m not sure what caused the last binge, and I&#8217;m not sure I want to know.   What I do know is that by the end of June of that year, I was completely mentally burned out and so tense I was sure I was about to fly apart.   The final paper I did that year &#8212; the first and only year of grad school at UMN &#8212; was written with the assistance of the Elenium.  I&#8217;d write a paragraph, then read a chapter.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, it wasn&#8217;t a bad system; a 10 page paper really only runs between 20 and 30 paragraphs.  I managed to get through it in about 18 hours, but by the end I was a wreck.  Which is why I didn&#8217;t go back to school the next year.  (Of course, the job I got almost drove me to a nervous breakdown on its own, but that&#8217;s another story. :P)  And I put the books away and couldn&#8217;t stand to look at them since.  Until a few weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>The current nascent binge has me concerned, because the circumstances surrounding it are eerily similar.  I&#8217;m beginning school again in less than 4 weeks.   And I am nervous.
