I got a journal about 7 months ago, but have done very little with it since, because I prefer the freeform blog style to the community regimented style promoted by livejournal.  I&#8217;m also not keen on the fact that it allows people to hide their posts from the public.  I can see the appeal, but I don&#8217;t like it.<\/p>\n<p>Still, so many people have gotten them recently that it&#8217;s become nearly impossible to click on links in anyone&#8217;s friends list without stumbling upon 3 or 4 people I already know.  Now, it&#8217;s a fact that the circles I&#8217;m familiar with are incestuous and interconnected, but it gets a little ridiculous.  There&#8217;s a feeling of voyeurism to reading the blog of someone else, especially if that someone else is someone you knew and have lost touch with.  And livejournal just makes it all even easier.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, aside from the unintended stalking, I&#8217;ve started playing helpstaff over there a bit, answering occasional support requests.  I don&#8217;t really know much more than the basics &#8212; I haven&#8217;t had the time or inclination to sit down and figure out the convoluted way which templates work over there &#8212; but it&#8217;s kind of fun.<\/p>\n<div style=\"clear:both; padding-bottom: 0.25em;\"><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m becoming a bit more enthusiastic about livejournal.
