The victim was someone we were familiar with from past books, and after the un-twisty mystery of last time, Fluke swung wildly in the other direction and provided scores of suspects this time. Most of them were uninteresting or incredibly unlikely, but at least they served to pad out the investigation. The non-mystery related portions of the book continue to suffer from the same sorts of problems that have plagued the series from about book #3. The timeline continues to show cracks. Mike, one of the two supposed love-interests, continues to behave like such a complete asshat it’s impossible to understand why Hannah still finds him interesting. Norman, the other supposed love-interest, continues to be so perfect it borders on creepiness. And Hannah reaches new heights of insanity, having a near breakdown when she ends up spending the night at Norman’s house because she’s too tired to drive home. Even though she is over 30, even though she has supposedly been dating this man for over 2 years, she panics because WHAT WILL PEOPLE THINK?!?! (Newsflash: They already wonder what the hell is wrong with you, Hannah. You are in serious need of some therapy to deal with your ridiculously prudish nature.)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
Cream Puff Murder (Hannah Swensen #11) The mystery in this one was a decided improvement over #10.
