I thought I'd post this. Maybe it'll generate some more interesting queries than YKW.

Downloaded some Winamp skins. Mostly Gravi and HP, but some random ones too. Pretear, Yuki and To-ya, etc. Anyhow, that's not what I wanted to talk about.

So one of the videos in a previous Shoujocon contest was a FY one to the SES song Dreams Come True. While watching them, I finally realized.. hey, wait, that song's in Japanese! And I decided I liked it. So I did some digging around. This wasn't terribly easy to find out, so maybe by posting it here, it'll be a little easier for some people. (Until this entry gets dumped into an archive anyway.)

SES is a Kpop group who is also a Jpop group. Yes, well, don't think too hard figuring it out. :) They did a Korean and a Japanese version of this song. But the original was an English song, and not by them. The original was done by Trish Thuy Trang, a Vietnamese-American singer. That is, she was born in Vietnam and moved to the US as a kid. So, there you have it. Four countries are all in the mix and in short, I like the song. I like some other SES and Trish things too. And I need to get some CDs. I never did find an mp3 of the Japanese version of the song. Or any more than a small percentage of all their songs (both SES and TTT).

Oh yea, and it's hard as /heck/ to search for SES on Google without pulling up French pages! Even S.E.S. doesn't work. The trick, or at least, what helps, is to go into Advanced Search and tell it to only give you English pages. Of course then you're missing out on the Korean, Japanese, Chinese... pages.. but well, what're you gonna do? Depends on how persistent you are.

Oh, and one more observation.. it's easier to search for porn than it is to search for mp3s! I had to kill the browser innumerable times because the popups were TAKING OVER!
